Phase II

This Subteam is in the second year of the competition submission process. Over the course of the year, the team will work on finalizing its project design, developing a prototype, and conducting sufficient testing. Testing and prototyping includes working in multiple labs throughout the year in order to go through the multiple iterations of the project. The team will also compile a thorough economic analysis of its final project. By the end of the Spring semester, this team will have developed a moderately functional prototype and will submit their completed 10-page report and 3-minute video to the VentureWell DEBUT competition!

Alex Wurm is currently a senior from Armonk, NY, studying chemical engineering in the College of Engineering with minors in business and computer science. Other than being the Phase II project manager for DEBUT, he is the captain of Cornell ChemE Car and the treasurer of Tau Beta Pi. He is also involved with Zeta Psi, Cornell Hillel, and Alpha Chi Sigma. After graduating, Alex hopes to work in industry for several years before returning to school for his master's degree. Alex would describe DEBUT as enlightening, and his favorite part of DEBUT is the creativity and the diversity of backgrounds among team members.
