Phase I

This Sub-team is in the first year of developing its competition submission project. Over the course of the next year, this team will research biomedical problems and brainstorm innovative solutions before selecting its project. The members on the Phase I Competition Team will serve as either Research & Development Analysts or Economic Analysts. Research & Development Analysts are tasked with conducting research in several fields to analyze the feasibility and impact of several potential projects. Economic Analysts analyze patentability, the regulatory pathway, and economic feasibility of all potential projects. By the end of the spring semester, the team will develop designs and testing procedures for all viable project ideas and ultimately determine its best idea and begin working on the development process.

There are two Phase I teams that work parallel to each other, which means in two years, Cornell DEBUT will submit two separate projects to competition.
